When we are invited to look at a piece of land for a new course or to modify an existing layout, we take time to study the natural contours and features of the property. We look carefully at the route the course will take to make best use of the natural assets. We look for natural movement - trees, outcrops of rock, water features, wetland and the like to incorporate into the design. At this point we also have to be aware of any potential construction or maintenance problems. Natural contours, which work in the playability of the course are of primary importance in our approach. To create new contours which merge imperceptibly with those provided by nature is the true skill of a great course architect. The greatest compliment we can receive is to have someone say, “ You were lucky to have such a beautiful piece of contoured ground on which to design a course.” This approach helps us to create a finished golf course that fits the land, the eye and of course the budget. It’s our trademark to design exciting golf courses that offer the golfer the option of risk and reward on many of their shots. If you want to see the tangible evidence of our philosophy in practice take a look around our completed website.
